On January 26, 2011 Suncor flew their flag at half-mast in honor of longtime employee no. 148, Harvey Perkins. Harvey was born near Lavenham, Manitoba and passed away peacefully January 25, 2011 after a long battle with prostate cancer. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by the mother of his children, Merle Perkins, daughter Tracey, son Trevor (Melanie), grandchildren Heath, Sienna, Cole, Kaden and Ava, special friend, Elizabeth Duplessis and her children, Minette (Allan), Shelley (Rick), Grason and their children, sisters Donna (Hank), Annie (Bob), brothers Melvin and Clarence as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was predeceased by sisters Edith and Elsie, brothers Nelson and Lloyd. Harvey loved life and had a very generous spirit. He was always willing to help out family and friends in many ways, whenever he could. He was a special gift in all our lives. Cremation has taken place and Harvey will be buried near his mother and father at the Lavenham Cemetery at a later date.
